Disqualifying Crimes
Providers convicted of the following crimes within the last ten years will not be eligible to work for the IHSS program:
- Fraud against a governmental health care or supportive services program
- Abuse of a child (PC section 273a)
- Abuse of an elder dependent adult (PC section 368)
Disqualification for these crimes cannot be appealed.
Additionally, the state has issued a list of felonies that may also disqualify potential Providers. Disqualification from the program based on these crimes may be waived by the individual Consumer. For more information about disqualifying crimes, please contact the Public Authority.
